Taskforce Skirmish is a member of UKARA
Airsoft is a military simulation game similar to paintball, however the guns used are replicas of real guns such as the M16, or AK47. Guns fire small plastic pellets (known as bb's) at a rate of up to 600 a minute. The range of the gun depends very much on the model but on average they fire accurately up to 40 to 50 metres. Guns are run by rechargeable batteries.
Games are around assaulting and defending a base, these bases vary from game to game. Each team will be given an objective at the start of each mission which they must try to achieve by the end of the game. Marshals will be in place to ensure safety and fairness during the game play. You will be required to wear your own face mask during all game play for safety reasons.
From the 1st October 2007, the Violent Crime Reduction Act made it illegal to sell, import or manufacture a realistic imitation firearm in the UK. It is legal to buy and own realistic imitation firearms (RIF) however there are regulations now covering the purchase of such items.
UKARA (UK Airsoft Retailers Association) have introduced a scheme to allow air soft players to join a recognised site once they have fulfilled a specified set of criteria.
Aged 18 or over
Attend 3 airsoft events in the past 12 months
Events attended must be over a minimum period of 3 months
You must provide a photo ID (Passport or driving licence)
You must provide an ID showing name and address (Current utility bill or similar)
£20 membership fee (for membership card you will need to provide 2 passport photos)
We will keep a record of each time you play, stamp your membership form which you will need to show any UKARA retailer any time you wish to purchase airsoft equipment.
Your membership will stay valid as long as you continue to attend any UKARA registered site, have your attendance logged and fulfil the criteria of membership (which is to play a minimum of 3 times in a 12 month rolling period)
